PJ Library is a program that delivers free, award-winning books celebrating Jewish values and culture to children from birth through 12 years old. Signing up is simple and free, taking less than three minutes. PJ Library aims to foster a love for Jewish traditions through reading. They offer resources for various age groups, including PJ Our Way for kids ages 9-12, where children can select their own books each month.
Reading Jewish books is important for Jewish children as it helps them connect with their cultural and religious heritage. These books often include stories and teachings that reflect Jewish values, history, and traditions. This exposure fosters a sense of identity and belonging within the Jewish community. Additionally, it can enhance their understanding and appreciation of religious practices and festivals, contributing to a more enriched spiritual and cultural life. Reading such literature from a young age can lay a strong foundation for lifelong engagement with their Jewish roots.
The program is a project of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. For more detailed information, visit PJ Library's website.
